What a Nice Surprise!

Aren't these flowers lovely? Imagine my surprise when I came home from work today and found them on my table. I'm supposing that Ryan received them and forgot to tell me. Sounds like him. Then upon reading the card, I got a huge chuckle!

The back of the card said, "This was sent from Westbury with no signature." Interesting. At first, when I saw the A's all handwritten in, I figured this was some sort of code I had to unravel. Hmmmm. . . Was somebody trying to fool me???? (Honestly, it wouldn't take much these days. If this is my mind after drugs, then I'm in trouble!)

Then I just smacked myself upside of the head (Probably not a great idea considering my new age!) and reminded myself that I live in East Tennessee. Translated that means that this lil' ol' local-yocal flower shop is fixin' to get rid of that thar ol' typeywriter that don't print them thar A's any longer. *GRIN* I'm still cracking up. But I think I've figured out who did send the lovely flowers, and I want her to know that I am so grateful for her friendship--even if it's long-distance! Love and hugs to you, my sisterchick buddy from the North!

After Surgery Photo--Yuck!

This was the day the doctor unwrapped my foot, ten days after surgery. Notice that he wrote yes on my foot before the surgery when he confirmed which foot he was operating on! Also, the incision was sealed with--I know now--stitches, crazy glue, and surgical tape. I was able to get the tape off after a few days of showering. The glue is still driving me nuts. I was shocked at how much bruising there was on the top, bottom and heel of my foot. He really beat me up! BTW, the nasty yellow is leftover betadine solution. The bruising has cleared up a lot, but I still have some swelling and probably will for months. Yeah!

Birthdays, Birthdays Everywhere!

Three of the four females in our house have birthdays in April. I, of course, turned 50. Kelly turned 30, and Kenzie hit the big 3! Some of you may not remember that Kenzie was born on her favorite grandmother's birthday! hehehehehhe! This year was tough because I was on crutches after having foot surgery. At least by the time my birthday came around, I was nine days into my convalescence. That meant fewer pain pills and being able to leave the house for an hour. Yeehaw! Kelly took me to the school to have lunch with Tessa and Ross, and it did turn out to be a nice day. All the students had made me cards, and a mom brought a delicious cake. Some folks even brought me dinner that evening.

Fun at Build a Bear!

I made a card for Kelly with this photo of when she was just two months old. It said, "Aren't 30th birthdays just ducky?" Wow! That was a long time ago!
