I didn't do it on purpose. Not sure if I'm sorry it happened. Not even sure I completely understand it. I think I'll take it as a compliment. Maybe. We have two family theme songs--like I said, not on purpose. One is sung subconsciously by the children until such time as their mother--that would be me--shoves them into reality or out of the nest or wherever she can shove them. I will take some of the responsibility since I may be guilty of giving one too many Peter Pan ornaments over the years. I have to think on that one.
Are you ready for today's lesson?
Listen to your teacher. Repeat after me:
I won't grow up,
(I won't grow up)
I don't want to go to school.
(I don't want to go to school)
Just to learn to be a parrot,
(Just to learn to be a parrot)
And recite a silly rule.
(And recite a silly rule)
If growing up means
It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
I should take it as a compliment that my kids don't want to grow up, right?
