I'm officially calling it.  The time to decorate is over.  It's time to once again put away the bins and enjoy the season.  Once tomorrow's party at my house is over, I can and will relax a bit.  The house will be as done as it's getting, the presents are wrapped, and school is out.  It sounds so good to me!

Today I worked mostly on the upstairs since construction has halted for the holidays. Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit to do, so we'll be right back at it.

I bought these darling little plates years and years ago.  They have never been displayed because I just didn't know how to do it.  I don't know what got into me today, but I had a stroke of genius.  I hot glued them to the shelf in the bathroom.  Clever, huh?  It was cheaper than plate hangers for the whole reindeer parade.  I'll be touching up paint during the Christmas break from school, so if the glue doesn't peel off nicely, I will fix it then.
Aren't they just the cutest?  I think I paid 50 cents a piece for them.

This set of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus was bought from Avon when my oldest was just a little girl.  That was probably 25 or more years ago.  It gets isplayed in our bathroom each year.  Don't ask me why.  Maybe because it's plastic and won't get ruined should one or more of them decide to take a bath.  Just guessing.

The shelves at the bottom of the stairs were decorated today as well.  They usually hold photographs but have been empty during the ceiling redo.

I will get to light 20 of the Advent candles tomorrow for my party.
And perhaps the biggest accomplishment today was getting some birds ready for shipment clear across the continent!  Yes, it's been a productive day.  I guess that happens when you get up at 5:30 a.m.
