As I have mentioned numerous times now, a lot of what I had to work with in the cabin was "found" or free stuff. The kitchen cabinets are no different. If I had known back in the spring that I was going to be writing for 31 days in the fall, perhaps I would have taken some before photos. Since I didn't, you will have to imagine old out-of-date wood cabinets. The good thing is that they have pull-out shelves and drawers with separators. What a treat! And now they have the coolest knobs ever.
I must admit that I have splurged on knobs. I probably could have cleaned up the old ones or painted them or recreated them, but then I would have had nothing to smile about. And you really can't beat Hobby Lobby's 50% off sales!
I have been told by my dear husband that the knobs below have been installed on a one-of-a-kind dresser-like thing that will probably make you smile--or not--later. I had my doubts about that project, but I think it has grown on me.
Michael made a trip up to the cabin last weekend to lay some tile floor in the bathroom, hang some lights, and drill some holes for knobs. I could not go, so I will have to wait until this Sunday or Monday to see all!
If that little guy below does not bring a smile to your face then you must have been traumatized as a child by a bird.
Day 9: The knobs from Hobby Lobby make me smile.
